Rugby Report 2013

This has been a fantastic season for rugby with all the boys being involved in competitive rugby at all levels. The 1st XV repeated their feat of last year by producing their best season in decades and the 2nd XV also went all season with only one loss. The U11 A team won their 7s Tournament again and the U11 B side only lost one game against equal opponents. Overall the statistics for the U13 and U11 teams were:

Played 76, Won 41, Lost 24, Drew 2
Points for 1846, Points against 962

Not included in these statistics are the U11 A team 7s win and a Shield runner up result.
For the U9s this term saw an introduction to competitive contact rugby. The results were mixed (a win against Fairstead, a draw against FKS and two losses to BSCJS and Widford), but the boys had to cope with schools playing different variations of the rules and we hope that this is clarified for IAPS schools for next year's season.

Overall the most impressive element of the season has been the boys’ willingness to try and play expansive, open and ambitious rugby and certainly the 1st XV, as the senior side representing all rugby at Felsted, accomplished this with great success.

Thank you to all the boys for their drive, desire and positive attitude and thank you to all the coaching staff for their professionalism, their competitive edge and the high quality coaching they brought to the training ground. Thank you also to all the parents who have supported all the teams regardless of the weather.
